Located right close to Lake Maggiore and equipped with a small pier, the new Techbau office building is based on understanding context and establishes a strong interaction with the site both in terms of shape and choice of materials. The complex is built on a system of reinforced concrete pillars, which sink into the ground and free the ground floor to a height of 3 meters.
The building is thus like a slits; the upper part is made up of a prefabricated construction system in laminated timber, that allows to cover a distance of 18 metres. The complex is composed of a linear building and two arms each grafted on it with their own inclination, which give rise to an articulated shape, emphasized by the profile of the roof. The roof is indeed defined by a series of folds with different heights to accentuate the projection towards the landscape.
